Elaine Roberts BSc MCOptom
Partner & Optometrist
With over three decades of experience, Elaine has been a partner with PLM through many changes, and developed a passion for modern lens manufacturing and eyewear. Her favourite brand? Etnia Barcelona, naturally. When she’s not perfecting someone’s look with their ideal frames, Elaine enjoys a good pub quiz (watch out, she’s competitive!) and exploring local restaurants, usually with a glass of wine in hand. She’s a proud mum to two sons and believes that great eyewear should make you feel as good as you look.
David Cummins MSc BSc MCOptom DipTp(IP)
Partner & Optometrist
David has become a well-known face at PLM over the last 3 decades. He revels in complex and challenging cases. After qualifying in 1992, David worked in diverse locations including London, Trinidad, Barbados and Australia, before coming home to roost. When he’s not examining eyes, you’ll find him foraging for fungi or exploring fine cuisine. Oyster mushroom fricassee, anyone? Known for his quirky sense of humour, David has a knack for putting even the most anxious patients at ease.
Fiona Adamson BSc MCOptom DipTp (IP)
Partner & Optometrist
Fiona’s quest for knowledge has resulted in her becoming an independent prescribing optometrist, adept glaucoma clinician and an expert in specialist contact lens fittings. Her career and love of travelling has taken her as far as New Zealand, where she lived & worked for 10 years. While there, Fiona was involved in fitting cosmetic contact lenses for Peter Jackson’s King Kong and doing voluntary services in Fiji before returning to Scotland and joining PLM in 2006. When she’s not in the test room, you’ll find Fiona out trail running, cycling or reading a good book!
Lynsey McAllister BSc MCOptom DipTp (IP)
Partner & Optometrist
Thought not originally a Fifer, Lynsey has lived and practiced in Fife & Kinross for the last 20 years. She qualified from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2001, and since then has had special interests in both children’s eyecare and, since gaining her Independent Prescribing Diploma in 2020, acute eye conditions. When not at work, she can be found at the gym or away having adventures with her boys and 2 dogs. One thing you might not know is that she’s a devoted Jason Donovan fan – proving that good taste in 80s pop is truly timeless…
Pamela Fraser BSc MCOptom DipTp(IP)
Optometrist
Pamela joined the PLM team in 2018 and has been a valued member ever since. She has a passion for contact lenses, helping patients find the perfect fit for their lifestyle and vision needs. Away from the practice, Pamela is a keen dressmaker – a hobby that requires the same attention to detail and precision she brings to her optometry work. She loves spending quality time with her two sons, whether that’s at home with her sewing projects or out enjoying family time.
Kathryn Marshall BSc MCOptom DipTp(IP)
Optometrist
Kathryn graduated in 2019 with first class honours, and since then, she’s been on a mission to expand her expertise – successfully completing Myopia Control as a post-grad, and her independent prescribing diploma too! Not content with just clinical work, Kathryn also lectures at the University of the Highlands and Islands in Inverness – clearly, she loves sharing her knowledge with the next generation. Always eager to learn more, she’s about to embark on her Professional Certificate in Medical Retina. Safe to say, Kathryn’s never standing still!
Christine Jaffray BSc MCOptom
Optometrist
Christine’s enthusiasm & passion for patient care shines through in every consultation and has a particular passion for specialist contact lenses. Never one to rest on her laurels, she’s currently working towards her independent prescribing qualification! When she’s not in the test room or studying the intricacies of various eye conditions, Christine loves hillwalking and exploring new holiday destinations. When you see her, be sure to ask her about the only museum she visited during a trip to San Francisco…
Annie Sim BSc MCOptom
Optometrist
Annie joined us in 2024, quickly becoming known for her attention to detail and positivity – not to mention her fantastic detective skills when it comes to figuring out problems with the eyes. Outside the clinic, Annie enjoys spending time with her young son, exploring museums and zoos. Her second passion, food, fuels her dream of one day becoming a food critic, making her both an attentive optometrist and a keen collector of great recipes – if you have any, be sure to bring them in for her!
Naomi Munro BSc Prof Cert Med Ret
Optometrist
Naomi hails from Northern Ireland and now calls Fife home, where she lives with her husband and two children. She joined us in 2025, but has practiced for many years and is a friendly face. Naomi also enjoys paediatric eyecare, bringing a warm & reassuring approach that puts even the youngest patients at ease. Being a Mum, Naomi understands the importance of those early eye exams and loves helping children and their families.
Graeme Shield FBDO
Dispensing Optician & General Manager
Graeme joined PLM in 2024, but started in optics way back in 2007. A self-confessed optical nerd, Graeme has a talent for matching patients with the perfect frame & lens combos. When he’s not helping someone find their ideal specs, you’ll likely find him listening to Eurovision tracks or attending the contest itself. His other passion is theatre – he’s spent years as a freelance theatre director with productions staged across the UK.
Alan TJ Guild SMC (Tech)
Lab Technician
Alan is the skilled craftsman behind the scenes who brings your eyewear to life. With a love of numbers and precision, lab work suits him perfectly (though his other qualification as a computer repair technician proves he’s handy with all things technical). When he’s not crafting the perfect pair of glasses, Alan enjoys a good game – whether that’s shouting answers at Countdown on the telly or playing poker with friends. He’s also a passionate music fan with eclectic taste, happily moving from chillout to 60’s classics to dance.
